Still life was in fact a little boring to work on but, however, used it as a way to develop my fine art skills. At the age of 16 in 2007 i painted the piece above from a still life of shells i had set up to work from. It's titled 'The Three Shells', was my first oil painting on canvas and rushing, it only took me 6 hours to complete.I don't understand how people can work in oils though.. having to dilute the paint with white spirit makes the smell stick in your nose for hours. It's just like having the smell of polish stuck up your nose -NOT GOOD!
Anyway, back to acrylics on paper (as above). The painting above was based on a still life i had set up of a charm bracelet of mine. It took me about 15 hours on and off.. because i got to a point where i didn't want to finish it but i did in the end.
